March third was the Winter Residents Reception which was hosted at the Leon Levy Preserve in conjunction with the Ministry of Tourism as a thank you to all that come here and call it their winter home. The event is a yearly thing and is hosted by various organizations and is always well attended. There was a buffet style meal with conch fritters, crab cakes, grouper snacks as well as wine and punch topped off with some delicious cupcakes.
Each year people from all over come to their homes in Eleuthera generally during the winter months to escape the grasp of winter and enjoy the Bahamas. Who could blame them. Being held at The Leon Levy Preserve provided a wonderful setting and I even heard a few of the quests that weren’t aware of all the the Preserve had to offer. Hopefully, at a future date, they will come and explore further the trails and sights that can be seen here.
As you can see from the photos below a great time was had by all and we look forward to next year’s event!
