Smuggler’s Beach is on the Atlantic side of the island in the Rainbow Bay subdivision. There’s a sign and large parking area leading to the path down to the beach. The path is good with steps made from stones and telephone pole sections.
The beach itself is great for treasure hunting as quite a bit washes ashore here. Usually you can find small seaglass pieces as well as wood. There are shipwrecks that are presently (12-4-16) washed ashore. It’s not great for walking as the sand is soft and swimming is tricky due to the waves and rocks but great for looking for that “treasure” that everyone else missed.
