Here is the 5 AM outlook from The NHC and it looks as if not much has changed for Eleuthera overnight. We still have a Hurricane Watch but if Irma Tracks in roughly this position as it nears us we should end up wind strong winds and rain.
I believe that today will be the last day to easily make any preparations that you need to take care as Friday we should see a great deal of rain and the winds to start to pick up. I’ve added a chart below with the expected time for the winds to arrive as well. You can also view the winds here at Windy.com
I’ll also be posting during the day to update you on Hurricane Irma’s progress as well as to let you know how everything is here on the island. That will be from this page and Facebook as well as my YouTube Channel. Hurricane Irma is an incredibly powerful storm and all parties that may be potentially impacted by her need to play close attention.
I think it’s important to note that even though Eleuthera is under a Hurricane Watch we are outside of the cone so if this track holds we should be in a better position than many.
We will keep a close watch but this track from NHC shows Irma well to the west of Andros as it passes us. You should also keep an eye on Hurricane Jose that is forecast to to be to our south. At present it doesn’t appear to be a concern for us but it may again affect some of the more southern islands that have already been battered by Hurricane Irma.
