Eleuthera and Hurricane Irma-Fri Am Update

This morning is starting out with a little stronger winds and the photo below shows the 5 AM track of Hurricane Irma. It appears to me that Irma has moved a little to the west which means Eleuthera will have a bit less of the storm. Irma has also dropped to 155 mph which is better than what it was.

It isn’t light out yet so I can’t see much and the power is scheduled to be shut off at noon today. I will do my best to keep you informed of how things are going here on the island via this page as well as the Eleuthera Facebook page and my YouTube Channel .

It appears from the wind charts that we should be seeing winds in the 30-60 mph range which is much more acceptable than what could be happening. I do not think there will be much open today and if there are they will probably be closed by noon.

So far I believe all is about as set as it can be and everyone is prepared for the arrival of Irma.

You’ll also notice that the present track takes it right up through Florida into the US. Hopefully all those there are making their preparations.
